Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago: Kids Advisory Board
Get an in-depth look at hospital design through the eyes of those who were there through it all - the Kids Advisory Board. Interact with the board of teenaged patients and the architects, learn about the design process and go virtually into the hospital spaces they helped influence. Hosted by: Kids Advisory Board *REQUIREMENT: Must be 12 or older to participate. Because the Lab is in a hospital setting, participants must be in good health and have no infectious diseases. About the Organization: The Kid Advisory Board (KAB) are teenagers who are frequent flyers of Children's Memorial Hospital, now Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. The group has been meeting monthly for years and more recently have been meeting with architects during design processes of the hospital to provide feedback. The KAB is very involved with the external design evolution of the hospital as well as key areas internally. This 23 story, state-of-the-art hospital just opened on June 9, 2012 in downtown Chicago.
