Chicago High School Students Step into Gaza City
A Chicago Ideas Week Portal Connection with Gaza City.
An AP World History Class (Juniors/Seniors) from a Chicago-based high school will connect with people of similar ages in Gaza City during the opening CIW Portal connection. Both groups of students will get a chance to learn about each other’s cultures, struggles, stories and lives. They'll be discussing topics such as literature, music, goals for the future, social work, sports, food and traditions. Gaza City and Chicago might be on opposite sides of the world, but this portal will shine a light into how similar each place is.
*For the exception of Open Hours, Portal programs are not ticketed events. Stop by the Portal in Daley Plaza to watch this live.
Connection Duration with Gaza City: Three hours and 20 minutes. Two hours of open hours, followed by one hour of the portal connection and 20 minutes of a musical performance by high school students. To reserve a spot for open hours, fill out the form below.
