Reserved for CIW YOU(th), Youth Labs bring together small groups of students for an exclusive, first-hand look into what happens behind the scenes at some of the most innovative companies, community leaders and institutions around Chicago.
The CTA is a central part of life for anyone who lives in Chicago. Nearly everyone in the city has interacted with a bus driver or train operator, but it’s easy to ignore all of the planning, support and communication that goes into running the system. At this lab, students will chat with employees about all of the behind-the-scenes jobs at the CTA, and then go on a scavenger hunt via the L and buses that will connect the dots to the information they learned in the discussion.
