    Artist-in-Residence Special Event

Entrepreneurship and the Innovative Spirit with Yangon, Myanmar

A CIW curated Portal Connection with Yangon, Myanmar.

    Tuesday, Oct 18, 2016 8:00 - 11:00 PM @ Daley Plaza
This event is over! Please check the 2021 schedule.
ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE SPECIAL EVENT - The Artist-in-Residence program is designed to engage and expose the city of Chicago to a local emerging artist or organization through the creation of a public art installation.

On the surface, being an entrepreneur in Chicago might seem entirely different from being one in Yangon, Myanmar, but this Portal connection will highlight the similarities between the two. The program will begin with an hour of entrepreneurs in Chicago and Yangon sharing tips and best practices on everything from elevator pitches to business plans. Participating entrepreneurs in Chicago include Martin McGovern, co-founder of Idea Lemon, and Minhaj Chowdhury, 2016 Bluhm/Helfand Social Innovation Fellow and co-founder & CEO, Drinkwell. The next two hours will be open, and the public will have the chance to connect with a group that’s a world away.

*For the exception of Open Hours, Portal programs are not ticketed events. Stop by the Portal in Daley Plaza to watch this live.
