Go Behind the Rails with the Chicago Transit Authority

On an average weekday, 1.7 million rides are taken on the CTA’s 1,356 rail cars and 1,865 buses. So, how does the CTA keep track of all of those trains and buses? You will learn about the high-tech technology and software that keeps the trains and buses running smoothly. You will also tour a CTA rail shop never-before-opened to the public and the CTA’s bus maintenance facility to see the diagnostic testing and upkeep that goes into your daily commute.
*You must be 21 or over, with valid ID, to attend. YArrive 10 minutes early. Dress for the weathe,r as some portions of the facility are outdoors. Wear long pants and closed toe shoes that you won't mind getting a little dirty. Do not wear sleeveless shirts.
