Us vs. Them: In Conversation with Ian Bremmer

    Monday, Oct 29, 2018 8:00 - 9:00 AM @ Cushman and Wakefield
This event is over! Please check the 2020 schedule.
    Ian Bremmer
Columnist, Time; Founder & President, Eurasia Group
    Brad Keywell
Founder & Chairman, Chicago Ideas and Founder & CEO, Uptake

Ian Bremmer is one of the country’s leading political scientists who specializes in U.S. foreign policy and global political risk. His latest book, Us Vs. Them: The Failure of Globalism, has been called “required reading to help repair a world in pieces and build a world at peace,” as it dives into the spread of populism and why so many people across the world see themselves as the losers of globalism. Riots, crumbling infrastructure, and fascism can all be traced back to the same psyche.

But, he argues, Americans and emerging states alike have cause for optimism. At this conversation with Chicago Ideas Founder & Chairman and Uptake Founder & CEO Brad Keywell, Bremmer will discuss the key geo-political conditions that are leading to the next wave of global populism and what can be done–practically–to make the world safer, more politically secure, and prosperous.
