Ideas to Action: Responsible Consumption and Production with GEMS World Academy Chicago
In 2015, the United Nations set forth 17 sustainable development goals to help end poverty, fight inequality, and stop climate change by the year 2030. Join GEMS World Academy Chicago for a look at goal #12, responsible production and consumption, and generate ideas for a possible solution to a related real-world problem. Learn more about the sustainable development goals initiative and discuss its possible impact, and hear from first grade students about their explorations into the problem of waste in Chicago. Participate in a guided brainstorm to help find solutions, then build working prototypes in their Design Lab. Come away with a better understanding of how we can approach worldwide problems through solutions in our own communities.
