LAB - Labs bring together small groups for an exclusive, first-hand look into what happens behind the scenes at some of the most innovative companies, community leaders and institutions around Chicago.

Building Bridges ? We Are Better Together

The IFYC Chicago Ideas Lab will consist of a 45-minute session with Founder and President Eboo Patel about how religion can be a ?barrier of division? or a ?bridge of cooperation? in our society. He will discuss the importance of and strategies for building an inclusive America, and the current public narrative of religion. As Eboo says, ?America is the first nation based on the idea that people from the four corners of the Earth can come together and build a country. We depend on the contributions of our various communities, and we are weakened when we exclude the contributions of any community.?

In addition, IFYC will also feature a few brief multi-media pieces that frame its mission and work on college campuses across the country through its student-led interfaith action campaign, Better Together. Local campaign organizers may join the conversation (15 ? 20 minutes) to discuss their work on the ground bringing together diverse communities. The program will conclude with a 30-minute question and answer session open to all participants.
