CONVERSATION -
Conversations are panel discussions that provide an in-depth, up-to-the-minute look at a single topic. Featuring three to four thought leaders and an expert moderator, Conversations consist of a 60-minute discussion, followed by 15 minutes of audience q-and-a.
A member of the iconic Big Six, Rep. John Lewis’s role as chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee put him at the epicenter of the civil rights movement. Today, 50 years after the marches from Selma to Montgomery, Lewis continues to fight for equal rights as a member of Congress and the co-author of the New York Times–bestselling graphic novel trilogy March. Join Chicago Ideas as Rep. Lewis and March co-author Andrew Aydin discuss the civil rights movement, nonviolent activism and youth empowerment.
