PREMIER LAB - Reserved for Premier-level Members and Sponsors, Premier Labs bring together small groups for an exclusive, first-hand look into what happens behind the scenes at some of the most innovative companies, community leaders and institutions around Chicago.

In 1924 Clarence Darrow staged an extraordinary defense of two University of Chicago students, Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, in what was then called the “Trial of the Century.” The two faced the death penalty after pleading guilty to the murder of their 14-year-old neighbor Bobby Franks. Darrow made his famous “masterful plea” against capital punishment in a 12-hour closing argument. Darrow did so in the old Cook County Criminal Courthouse where Bartlit Beck, one of the nation’s most successful trial firms, is now based. At this Premier Lab, step back in time with Bartlit Beck’s trial lawyers as they reimagine the case of Leopold and Loeb with a modern twist in the very place in happened almost 100 years ago.

Must be 21 or older and provide valid ID.
