    Conversation
Conversations are panel discussions that provide an in-depth, up-to-the-minute look at a single topic. Featuring three to four thought leaders and an expert moderator, Conversations consist of a 60-minute discussion, followed by 15 minutes of audience q-and-a.

Mick Ebeling is a film and television producer by trade, an optimist by nature and a medical detective by practice.  When Ebeling saw the challenges facing medicine today, he decided to use a DIY attitude to solve seemingly intractable problems. Today, he’s helped engineer the production of innovations like the EyeWriter, which allows paralyzed individuals to create art via the movement of their eyes, and a 3D prosthetic printing lab in Sudan. Join Chicago Ideas as Ebeling, author of Not Impossible, sits down with Northwestern University researcher and designer Jeanne Marie Olson to discuss where maker culture and science collide—and the joy of doing what couldn’t be done.
