ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE SPECIAL EVENT - The Artist-in-Residence program is designed to engage and expose the city of Chicago to a local emerging artist or organization through the creation of a public art installation.

Learning Spanish in Chicago can be difficult if you’re not immersed in a culture that speaks the language—the Portal connection looks to solve that problem, if only for a few hours.Chicagoans will meet an English class from El Progreso, Honduras, and the two groups will engage in a compelling, educational dialogue.

*For the exception of Open Hours, Portal programs are not ticketed events. Stop by the Portal in Daley Plaza to watch this live.

Connection Duration with El Progreso, Honduras: Three hours. One hour of program, followed by two hours of Open Hours. To reserve a spot for open hours, fill out the form below.
