LAB - Labs bring together small groups for an exclusive, first-hand look into what happens behind the scenes at some of the most innovative companies, community leaders and institutions around Chicago.

How is it that powerful ideas fail to engage the people whose support matters most? Conventional practice relies on the power of the idea to drive action. While powerful ideas are essential, people are the biggest X factor in getting any idea to move through an organization. In Illinois Institute of Technology professor Kim Erwin’s “Step Away From The Projector,” she highlights eight moments to break convention in how you communicate with the individuals, teams and stakeholders who matter to your innovation process. It proposes we use experiential communication as a platform for promoting deep contact with complex problems and solutions. Join us to learn a simple set of designed experiences that innovators can use to align their ideas, their teams and their stakeholders simultaneously—no Ph.D. required.

*Must be 21 years or older to attend.
