Labs bring together small groups for an exclusive, first-hand look into what happens behind the scenes at some of the most innovative companies, community leaders and institutions around Chicago.
From Chance the Rapper to Jamila Woods, Michael Kolar has worked with some of the most iconic recordings in music history. Get behind the boards with Kolar as he walks you through rare Abbey Road masters by the Beatles, demonstrating the lasting impact of their revolutionary techniques on recorded music to this day. Then, you’ll step into the booth where you’ll work together to build an entirely unique track from the ground up, then mix it down to an actual vintage tape machine like the Beatles did, all while applying the lessons you learned from popular music’s most legendary artists.
