The Trust for Public Land: The 606: Building Connections
The 606 is Chicago's most innovative public works project. Anchored by five access parks, this three-mile elevated freight line will transform into a linear trail. Attendees will have a hard-hat tour of the trail, followed by a workshop discussing the engineering, landscape architecture and arts and community engagement work that will turn an embankment dividing neighborhoods into a community connector and green transportation corridor.
