    The 77 Project at Daley Plaza

    The 77 Project is a storytelling series presented by Xfinity with additional support from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to help share the narrative of our communities from the inside out. Through this project, we're shining a light on organizations and individuals who are making a positive impact in each of Chicago's 77 community areas.     In the spirit of connection and uncovering the hidden gems in our city, Chicago Ideas and Xfinity will be at Daley Plaza all week to help you discover new places and people in the city you call home. Explore these free community events below, and meet us at Daley Plaza:

    Morning Motivations with Cara

    Tuesday, October 16 at 8:30am

    Start your day on a positive note with Morning Motivations led by Cara, a Chicago-based organization that empowers communities through quality employment to achieve real and lasting success. Part storytelling, part song, and all inspiration, Motivations takes place each Monday through Thursday morning before the Cara community start their day—and on Tuesday, 10/16, they'll bring the circle to Daley Plaza for us all to jump in to share moments of struggles and strengths, while having a ton of fun in the process.

    Tuesday's Motivations topic will be "What has happened in your life that has motivated you to change?"

    The Light at the Beginning of the Tunnel with Collaboraction

    Thursday, October 18 at 12:30pm

    Collaboraction Theatre Company's mission is to incite social change through original devised theatre and community engagement that cultivates knowledge, dialogue and action around Chicago's most critical social issues.

    This Thursday, meet us on the plaza as we welcome Collaboraction Theatre Company Artistic Director Anthony Moseley to share stories that illuminate his thoughts on the potential of the present moment, being an ally in Chicago and the meaning of life. 

    Making Friends and Mindfulness with aSweatLife

    Friday, October 19 at 8am

    aSweatLife believes fitness is the catalyst to you living your best life. They also believe that 'fitness' is more than a workout, we see it as the way you take care of your brain, body and soul. Join us along with aSweatLife at Daley Plaza for a moment of mindfulness led by Alma Omeralovic, a short standing stretch led by Maggie Umberger and a short chat from aSweatLife Founder Jeana Anderson Cohen about what it means to meaningfully connect to the people around you, whether it's in a workout setting or not. And, just like at every #Sweatworking event, get ready to introduce yourself to a couple new friends around you.

    If you're new to the idea, one of aSweatLife's crew of Ambassadors will likely be among you to lead the way in making new friends. Whether they were strangers passing you on the street before or co-workers you stopped by Daley Plaza with on your way into the office, you'll walk away from this Chicago Ideas Week pop-up feeling more grounded and connected to the community around you.

    This is What Chicago Means: In Conversation with Bulls Hometown Hero Jabari Parker

    A true Chicagoan, Jabari Parker goes in-depth during a conversation with Comcast CN100 Sports Broadcaster Camron Smith about what the city of Chicago means to him and the impact he wants to create on and off the court in his first year with his home team as a Chicago Bull.
