    Marketing & Content Manager

    Chicago Ideas is seeking a multi-faceted Marketing & Content Manager. The Marketing & Content Manager will be responsible for performance-level marketing areas, shaping a digital strategy based on social content trends and analytics. This growth-minded position will be in charge of executing digital marketing tactics, including social and email, taking a holistic and creative approach to content creation and execution, finding the best ways to get Chicago Ideas out into the world based on how our audience consumes content. This position will also manage Chicago Ideas' editorial voice. 

    Specific responsibilities include:

      • Developing and managing written & multimedia content across Chicago Ideas’ platform--this includes, but is not limited to, the website/blog, newsletters, program descriptions, playbills, and social media, in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Media.
      • Build and execute monthly editorial calendar, and help shape vision & strategy for digital growth goals
      • Create short-form multimedia content on a daily basis: video shorts, photography, gifs, etc. for distribution on social media
      • Generate ideas to grow subscriber base/followership
      • Generate longer-form content pieces around big ideas based on trending news topics and traffic-generating subjects
      • Brainstorm new content format ideas
      • Manage website and blog, ensuring a constant refresh of content
      • Create sponsored content to fulfill strategic partnership goals
      • Assisting the Programming and Marketing team in the packaging and posting of videos, and images on the CMS and Youtube, as well as developing a digital strategy for the distribution of that content.
      • Conduct monthly reporting on traffic and social analytics and offer insights to optimize digital strategy.

    The ideal candidate will possess:

      • 5+ years experience creating written and digital content
      • 2+ years experience developing and executing on a digital strategy
      • Strong writing skills
      • High level of interest in current and emerging social platforms
      • Photography, video editing, graphics and animation skills. You don’t have to be a master at everything, just interested.
      • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to collaborate with enthusiasm and positivity

    Membership Associate

    We are looking for an ideas loving, enthusiastic and well organized Membership Associate to assist in the development, cultivation and support of the Chicago Ideas Member program. The Membership Associate will be a part of the Strategic Partnerships team and report to the Director of Membership. Responsibilities include:

     Member Development (cultivate the community)

    • Assist in the planning and strategy to build and grow Individual and Corporate Membership 
    • Update membership information for presentations, website, social media and email
    • Develop prospect lists and outreach plans
    • Connect/follow-up and secure prospective members

     Membership Engagement (engage the community)

    • Help create and execute a year-round communication plan for existing Members
    • Utilize social media platforms including FB, LinkedIn and Instagram to share and engage with the Member Community
    • Help plan and execute Member events
    • Promote community amongst Members
    • Build relationships with Member community

    Membership Administration (manage the community)

    • Manage member database via Salesforce
    • Provide customer service and support to Members
    • Support ticketing/invitations/RSVPs for Member related events 
    • Manage financial aspects of day to day membership, budgeting, billing, collection, tax letters
    • Organize and execute member mailings
    • Schedule meetings

    Candidate should have:

    • The desire and excitement to be part of a fun, fast paced, roll up your sleeves environment
    • A bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of work experience preferably in sales, marketing, public relations, events planning or fundraising.
    • Excellent organization skills & strong writing skills
    • Strong computer/database skills: ability to easily and quickly utilize Salesforce, Google Docs, Excel.
    • Ability to be social and enjoys meeting, networking and interacting with new people
    • Savvy social media skills

    Note: Based on event schedule, the position requires 1-3 evenings per month and 80+ hour week during Chicago Ideas Week.
