Nancy Gibbs is TIME?s deputy managing editor, the number two editorial position at the magazine. Named by the Chicago Tribune as one of the ten best magazine writers in the country, she is the author of more than 150 TIME covers. Her story for the black-bordered special issue on September 11, 2001, won the National Magazine Award, and she was the lead TIME writer on virtually every major news event from Oklahoma City to Hurricane Katrina, as well as the last five presidential campaigns. She is the co-author, with TIME?s Michael Duffy, of The New York Times best-selling book The Presidents Club, which was published in April 2012 by Simon & Schuster.
