John Heilemann is national affairs editor and columnist for New York magazine and NYMag.com. He is also the coauthor of Game Change: Obama & the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime ? the runaway No. 1 New York Times bestseller and basis for the Emmy-nominated HBO film of the same name ? and a political analyst for MSNBC, where he appears reguarly on Morning Joe, Hardball, and The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell. Prior to joining New York in 2005, he was a staff writer for The New Yorker, Wired, and The Economist. A graduate of Northwestern and Harvard universities, he lives in Brooklyn, New York.
