Kennedy Odede is an internationally recognized social entrepreneur. Born and raised in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya, he is the founder of Shining Hope for Communities: an organization providing free girls' education and a network of community services to improve gender equality and alleviate extreme poverty in Kibera. Kennedy has been recognized by Echoing Green, the Cordes Foundation, the NYTimes, Humanity in Action, and President William J. Clinton for his innovative leadership and ground-breaking work.
