Lance Armstrong is a father, cancer survivor, advocate and cycling champion. In 1997, he was an up-and-coming-athlete facing a struggle for his life against testicular cancer. He aggressively educated himself about his diagnosis and treatment. Declaring himself a cancer survivor rather than a victim, he beat the disease despite overwhelming odds. During his battle he created a cancer foundation to serve fellow survivors. Since 1997, the Lance Armstrong Foundation has raised nearly $500 million and helped more than two million people affected by cancer through its navigation services.
