Rick Nielsen

Lead Guitarist, Cheap Trick

One of rock's most colorful musicians is Cheap Trick's guitarist Rick Nielsen. With his unending army of guitars, his most famous being a mammoth five-neck instrument, Nielsen is a true original.

A native of Rockford, Illinois, Nielsen became hooked on rock & roll via the British invasion (Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks), taking up the guitar shortly thereafter. Besides his Cheap Trick duties, Nielsen and his extensive collection of guitars were the subject of a book entitled Guitars of the Stars, which showcased 200 from his collection (he has one of the largest collections of vintage guitars in the U.S.).
