    Estelle Laughlin was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1929. In 1940, her family was forced to move into the Warsaw Ghetto before being deported following the Warsaw Uprising to Majdanek concentration camp. Later, she and her sister and mother were sent to the Skarzyko and Czestochowa concentration camps before Soviet forces liberated them in January of 1945. Estelle then lived in Bavaria until 1947, when she moved to the United States, where she now lives and volunteers at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
