Ayman Mohyeldin was recently named Foreign Correspondent, NBC News based in the Middle East. Prior to joining the network he covered the revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia for Al Jazeera English. In 2008, Mohyeldin was the only American journalist who covered Israel?s war with Hamas from inside the Gaza Strip. He began his career at NBC News in 2001 covering the September 11 attacks then covering wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for CNN. Time Magazine named Mohyeldin as one of the Most Influential People in the World in 2011. That year, he was also the recipient of both The Cutting Edge Media Award and The Freedom of Expression Award.
