Aku Kadogo

Director, Choreographer & Chair, Spelman Theatre Department
Aku Kadogo is chair of the department of theatre and performance at Spelman College. An international theater director, choreographer, educator, and cultural arts preservationist, she directs highly energetic, imaginative theater works and has produced a number of collaborative interdisciplinary projects. Kadogo’s most recent collaboration, Salt City: A Techno Choreopoem, with writer Jessica Care Moore was performed in June 2019 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit courtesy of Knight Foundation and Joyce Foundation grants.
