As Chief of Protocol of the United States, bearing the rank of Ambassador, Capricia Penavic Marshall was the United States’ lead in welcoming presidents, prime ministers, ruling monarchs, and other foreign dignitaries to the United States on behalf of the President and Secretary of State.
Ms. Marshall worked to leverage relationships with foreign governments, reinventing protocol by building relationships between leaders in the U.S and economies worldwide and creating strategies to transform global engagement. She launched the Diplomatic Partnerships Division, and hosted the first-ever Global Chiefs of Protocol Conference.
