    Professor Michael McConnell is an engineer-turned-cardiologist with a passion for technologies that help promote cardiovascular health and prevention. He has electrical engineering degrees from MIT and medical training at Stanford and Harvard, with expertise in MRI and molecular imaging of the coronary arteries and atherosclerotic plaque development. Building on his experience as a preventive cardiologist and triathlete, and as a member of the American Heart Association’s Health Tech Science Advisory Panel, his current research focuses on leveraging mobile health technologies to enhance physical activity and encourage heart-healthy behaviors.
