Erik Landemalm
Development Professional; Co-author, "Impossible Odds"

Erik Landemalm is a development worker who has spent over a decade working with the Horn of Africa focusing on Human Rights and Governance by strengthening judicial and political institutions within Somalia.
In October 2011 his wife, Jessica Buchanan, was kidnapped during a staff training by Somali pirates and subsequently held for 93 days. Landemalm worked tirelessly to secure her freedom and on January 25th 2012, by order of President Obama, she was rescued by Navy SEAL Team VI. His experience is chronicled in the New York Times Bestseller Impossible Odds that he has co-authored with Buchanan.
