Executive Vice President & Treasurer, MIT
As MIT’s executive vice president and treasurer, Israel Ruiz is responsible for leading all of the administrative and financial functions at MIT. Ruiz joined MIT in 2002 as manager of Financial Planning and Analysis and became associate director of the Office of Budget and Financial Planning in 2003. He was named director of finance in 2005, vice president of finance in 2007 and executive vice president and treasurer in 2011. Born in Barcelona, Ruiz holds a master’s degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a degree in industrial engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
