    Jack Andraka

2012 Intel Science Fair Grand Prize Winner

15-year-old high school student Jack Andraka has a vision to make a simple dipstick sensor for the detection of diseases. Driven by a curiosity and passion which emerged from a family tragedy, Jack wondered if it were possible to create a simple dipstick sensor for cancer diagnosis, much like current diabetes testing via sensor strips. Andraka's test dipstick sensor was able to detect the presence of pancreatic cancer with 100% accuracy in repeated trials.
