    Katherine is the Founder and Executive Director of Root & Rebound, a a reentry legal resource center that provides expertise in all areas of reentry law to individuals with past justice involvement, families with incarcerated loved ones, and community based organizations and agencies, so that the United States can become a society that supports opportunities for all. In just four years, the organization has reached almost 40,000 people through its California programs and services, and is working to expand its model nationally.

    Prior to founding Root & Rebound, Katherine attended Berkeley Law, where she worked in criminal defense, prisoner rights, and reentry advocacy. Katherine also co-founded the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project, a clinic whereby Berkeley law students represent life-term prisoners in parole hearings. Prior to law school, Katherine held a broad range of roles in international economic development, domestic violence advocacy, and adult education in New York City. Katherine received her B.A. in Anthropology from Columbia University and her J.D. from Berkeley Law, and is an attorney licensed to practice in the State of California.
