Co-Host, WBEZ's “Chewing the Fat”
Louisa Chu is a consulting chef and co-host of Chewing the Fat on WBEZ Chicago. Born in Hong Kong but raised in Chicago, Louisa received a James Beard scholarship to attend Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. She trained at the restaurants El Bulli and Alain Ducasse, and was the first American woman in history hired to cook at the Hôtel de Crillon, opened in 1909. She’s appeared on "Iron Chef America" as a judge, "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations" as a fixer, and the Emmy Award–winning Gourmet’s Diary of a Foodie as a presenter. Louisa was also the Chicago correspondent for "Gourmet" magazine.
