
Mariana Atencio currently co-hosts “Fusion Live” on the ABC News/Univision joint venture Fusion, where she provides young viewers with news and commentary on the issues of the day. She has also covered Ferguson, immigration and the protests in Venezuela. Prior to Fusion, Atencio was a correspondent for Univision, where she won a Gracie Award for directing for a documentary on press freedom in Latin America. She also won Univision’s first Peabody Award for “Fast and Furious”, a documentary on “Operation Fast and Furious”. Atencio is from Venezuela and immigrated here on a scholarship from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
