    Melissa Gilliam, MD, MPH, is professor of obstetrics and gynecology, professor of pediatrics and dean for diversity & inclusion in the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago. She is chief of the Section of Family Planning and Contraceptive Research, director of the Fellowship in Family Planning, heads the Program in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and is the director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry and Innovation in Sexual and Reproductive Health (Ci3). Dr. Gilliam’s clinical practice focuses on the gynecological needs of girls, adolescents and young adult women. She is particularly interested in studying vulnerable populations at risk of unintended pregnancy due to health care disparities, including low-income populations, women of diverse racial/ethnic groups and adolescents.
