    Melissa Harris is a business columnist at The Chicago Tribune, which she joined in 2009 after nearly five years as a criminal justice reporter at The Baltimore Sun. Her work has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in local reporting, and she is a two-time finalist for the Livingston Award, honoring outstanding reporting by journalists younger than 35. A graduate of Northwestern and Johns Hopkins universities, she is working on an MBA at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. She loves the arts and is a board member at Chicago Dramatists, a local theater that incubates new plays and teaches playwriting.
