    Micaela Connery

    Founder & CEO, The Kelsey

    A 2012 Chicago Ideas Bluhm Helfand Social Innovation fellow, Micaela Connery has been dedicated to inclusive community development her entire life. She is the founder and CEO of The Kelsey, a San Francisco–based nonprofit inspired by her cousin Kelsey that creates inclusive housing where individuals of all abilities and backgrounds live, play, and serve communities together. Prior to the Kelsey, Connery was the founder and CEO of Unified Theater, an organization she founded at age 15 that supports students of all abilities to create and lead inclusive arts programs in their communities. The organization serves students in more than 100 schools today. In 2015, she published an internationally cited paper for the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies, Disability Housing: What's Happening, What's Challenging, What's Needed.
