    Rabiah Mayas

    Associate Director, Science in Society, Northwestern University

    Rabiah is a self-proclaimed lifelong science nerd whose passion for science education stems from a belief in scientific thinking as a tool of social justice. As Associate Director of Science in Society at Northwestern University, she supports strategic programmatic and research initiatives across local school districts, youth-focused community organizations, and university faculty and student populations. In this role and more generally, Rabiah is committed to work that ensures equitable access to STEM for all youth, families, and communities, as a key factor in their academic, economic, and health futures. Rabiah completed her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Chicago and joined Science in Society in 2017 after nine years at the Museum of Science and Industry.
