A Pulitzer prize–winner for criticism, Robin Givhan writes about fashion as a business, as a cultural institution and as pure pleasure. Currently The Washington Post’s fashion critic, she has also worked at Newsweek/The Daily Beast, Vogue and the Detroit Free Press. She’s the author of the books Michelle: Her First Year as First Lady, which comprises her 2008 Washington Post reporting on Michelle Obama, and The Battle of Versailles: The Night American Fashion Stumbled into the Spotlight and Made History, about the pivotal 1973 fashion show.
