    Brooke Scheyer

    Director of Programming

    What inspires Brooke?

Daring literature, individuals who stand for something bigger than themselves, going to the movies alone, a good night's sleep, buzzer beaters, speaking in the third person, live music and wearing scarves.

As Director of Programming, Brooke is responsible for both booking speakers and curating programs as well as integrating the Chicago community with the goals and ideals of CIW. She is committed to cultivating a brilliant group of unique, talented, and innovative speakers, in addition to a complex and diverse audience for all CIW events!

In addition to her work at Chicago Ideas Week, Brooke is the founder of Brightest Star Foundations, a creative charitable consulting company geared towards helping athletes and other high profile individuals to responsibly manage charitable organizations and events. Over the past two years, she has worked with such organizations as the Luol Deng Foundation, the Jarrett Payton Foundation, The Coach Buehler Story documentary, the Jon Scheyer Foundation, and more.

Prior to founding Brightest Star Foundations, Brooke held positions at the Chicago Cubs, Bulls, and the Blackhawks, where she increased in-game fundraising for Chicago Blackhawk Charities by over 500%. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a BA in English and History. Brooke has also pursued a degree in Non-Profit Management from Northwestern University.
