Director of Booking
What inspires Amy?
A hard morning's swim, delicious meals, and my brilliant and hysterical little ones.
Amy is the Director of Talent Booking for Chicago Ideas Week 2012, combing the world discovering the most exciting, innovative, and thought provoking speakers. An expert at recognizing fascinating talent, Amy previously booked over 200 guests for several of the highest rated episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show over the last eight years including President Bill Clinton, Sen. Barack Obama, Laura Bush, Barbra Streisand, Elizabeth Edwards, Gov. Sarah Palin, J.K. Rowling, Mark Zuckerberg, Queen Rania, Michael Phelps, Chris Rock, and many more. Amy's field production work for the show landed her in the middle of national tragedies and pop divas' dressing rooms – though the difference wasn't always plain to see.
Before joining the world of daytime talk, Amy was caught in CNN’s Crossfire as Bob Novak and Tucker Carlson's researcher where she helped the pundits formulate arguments as they duked it out with liberal co-hosts James Carville and Paul Begala. During her tenure at CNN, Crossfire covered everything from the 2000 election, Bush vs. Gore, September 11 attacks, anthrax attacks, and the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Prior to a life intelevision, Amy studied it both as a viewer and as a student at Miami University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications.
