Building a Just Future in Chicago
The painful events of the past few months in Chicago have made one thing abundantly clear: things have to change.
As communities continue to heal and rectify a recent string of blatant injustices—including the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on communities of color, and the senseless deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor—we are convening leading voices on social justice to identify the priorities required for change as we look to rebuild our city.
This panel discussion, moderated by Helene Gayle, CEO of The Chicago Community Trust, will explore what an equitable Chicago looks like. Centering the voices, expertise, and experiences of leaders from the Black and Latinx communities in Chicago, we will explore how we got here and discuss the necessary steps forward.
