Chicago Ideas Youth

Over the course of the past 7 years, The Chicago Ideas Youth Program has provided a platform for Chicago high school students to identify new opportunities, internalize a leadership mentality and gain exposure to ideas that will spark their desire to change the world around them. Programmatically, the Chicago Ideas Youth Program has operated on two distinct levels:

  • An intensive, two-year ambassador program that served a cohort of 35 students
  • A city-wide initiative that has serves close to 2,000 Chicago teenagers through event-based programming

After the Idea: A Podcast by Chicago Ideas

In the first three episodes of our new podcast, we sit down with Chicago solution-makers from Edovo, Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus, and Academy for Global Citizenship to learn more about their impact in the city and beyond.

Speaker Connects

These events directly connect the youth with Chicago Ideas Week speakers, providing students with opportunities for deeper engagement, knowledge and interaction.

Youth Ambassador Program

The Chicago Ideas Youth Ambassador program provides 35 high school students from underrepresented communities in Chicago direct access to Chicago Ideas Week programming, a year-long event schedule of behind the-scenes access to companies and organizations, and a direct pipeline to our globally recognized speakers for more intimate small group interactions.
