    • Remember that when negotiating: Before you express what you want, summarize their perspective until they say to you "that's right!" 
    • Look for opportunities in everyday interactions to negotiate. Try out techniques as almost mini-negotiations so you can practice getting better at it. Keep track of your results to see your progress and pay attention to what is working and what isn't. Tweak your approach as you go.  Remember: the goal is not to be right. It's to get what you want or need. 
    • Start by asking your boss for a raise!
